Behind The Learning Match

Meet The Team

The Learning Match is led by three moms who work tirelessly to raise their own children, while growing their careers at the same time. Coming together in the name of education and simplicity, Amy, Julie and Amy created The Learning Match.

Amy Lundy

Founder & CEO
Amy Lundy is an entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience in the marketing, communications and events industries. She is the creator of The Mother of All Baby Showers (MOABS), which started in 2011 and has grown to over 15 cities around the US, focusing on educating expectant and new parents through adults-only celebratory large-scale events. She is also the co-founder of digital social connection and educational platform, We Ignite. Amy has worked and lived in Madison, WI, New York City, Washington, DC, Tampa Bay and South Florida, but has produced events of all sizes around the world. Amy's drive is only matched by her commitment to building long-term relationships with all of her clients. She has three children ages 9, 7 and 3, and when she isn't running businesses and parenting, she enjoys traveling, binge watching shows and eating french fries. She serves on her children's school's Student Advisory Council and is active in several local community services efforts helping children in need. Amy is passionate about her children's education. Her mother was a teacher and many of her close friends are teachers. She is a HUGE supporter of our educators, some of the hardest-working, most wonderful people she knows.

Julie Plake McMinn

Chief Marketing Officer
With more than 15 years of experience, Julie is an all-around marketing and branding pro. A move to New York City in 2005 marked the start of her communications career where she began as a marketing and advertising assistant. The concrete jungle kept her there for over seven years, and after coordinating chaos for a certain "skinnygirl" and a brief stint on reality tv, she left the city. She found even more chaos in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, where she married her high school sweetheart, had a baby and left the corporate world to create her own business, JPM Branding + Consulting. Her day-to-day includes working with entrepreneurs and brands to build a solid business foundation, while simultaneously orchestrating a three-ring circus -- aka her three kids, Josey (5), Alley (2) and Bennett (2 months). In her free time she answers her phone and says 'yes' to whatever business venture Amy Lundy wants her to be a part of that day, including The Mother of All Baby Showers and The Learning Match. Julie loves to travel with her family, shop at TJ Maxx, and support small businesses. Julie's life is full of teachers - her sister, aunts and in college, all of Julie's roommates were education majors. She knows the grind, the heart and the passion it takes to be a teacher.

Amy Mascott

Amy is just as active offline as she is online. You can find her either cheering for her kids on the soccer sidelines, biting her nails during swim and dive meets, or buzzing around the 'hood as a cheer mom. Married to an elementary school principal, Amy resides in the DC Metro with her crazy-cool 16, 15, and 13-year-old, a dog, and way too many books.
